Little Flower Library Corner
Date: January 9, 2023
Children: 21months
Setting: Our little library corner
Materials: Books!!
Provocation: This past summer we took our first big field trip to the Stanley Milner Library downtown and the little ones absolutely loved it!! So before Christmas we moved all our books from under the front stairs to our upstairs living room to make our very own little library.
Learning Objectives: Language development - experimenting with language and sounds, Developing social skills - peer interactions, Build Confidence, Practicing following instructions and listening skills, Learning to respect and handle books with care, Growing a love for reading

Today was the first time these two saw each other since before Christmas break! Needless to say they were attached at the hip, haha.
Every morning we start our days by reading books together and singing songs, followed by a bit of independent reading.
Miss I would pick books from the shelf and then hand them to J, he would then flip through the pages “pretended” to read them to her. SO ADORABLE!
After reading they would put the book back and pick another. After a few books it turned into them re organizing the bookshelves completely! They would pull a bunch out and then practice putting them back into the shelf, sometimes it was tricky but they kept trying until they got it. It was wonderful seeing them problem solve.
